Prior to learning Latin Percussion and Salsa, Marie was a fine artist. As her interest in dance and music grew, she stopped producing art. Now in Santa Fe, Marie occasionally picks up her favorite media – charcoal and ink – and explores her surroundings.

The Production Years
From 1994 to 2001, Marie produced over 20 arts shows, taught Life Drawing with live models and charcoals, produced handmade graphics products such as hand-cut screened teeshirts, calendars with home-printed black and white photography, and inked illustration and letters for logos and promotions. She produced shows in Olympia’s bi-annual ArtsWalk with in oils, charcoals, photography, and mixed media. For the canvas paintings, Marie hand-built the frames, then stretched and prepped the canvas with layers of gesso. All images of people were with live models.
